About Clompus, Reto & Halscheid
Dr. Richard Clompus began his Optometric career in January 1981. His original office was established on South High Street in West
Chester. He practiced there for 4 years, during which time he began to build the reputation of honesty, determination and hard
work that the corporation is known for today. In 1985, Dr. Clompus ventured forward by moving his office to Westtown. In 1987,
Dr. Steven Reto joined the practice with intentions to carry on the fine reputation of the practice. After much hard work, the
practice continued to grow within the community. Clompus & Reto Vision Associates became a corporation and moved to the larger
facility in East Goshen that we know today.
Clompus & Reto Vision Associates continued to grow both in scope of practice and in reputation, and this continues today.
Medical specialists were added to the practice, which allowed us to better serve all of our patients’ eye care needs. Dr.
Mitchell Scheiman brought a wealth of experience and expertise in Pediatric Optometry and Vision Therapy. Refractive surgery through
Kremer Laser Eye Center continued the practice’s reputation for excellence. In 1999, Dr. Clompus retired from private practice,
having greatly helped to position the practice where it stands today, at the leading edge of eye care. In 2001, Dr. Harry Halscheid
joined the practice with intentions to expand on the tradition of excellent care and service. In 2003 the practice ventured forward
to open a second office in Chester Springs, PA. This state of the art facility was a proven example of the “tradition of
excellence” that the practice has come to be known for. |
